Old School Vibe

Difference in versions on PS3 and PC

Overwhelmed with Nostalgia while being able to do what I want!

Turning on Terraria for the first time was fantastic, it was like starting up an SNES game for the first time, minus the click noise to turn it on! A unique sandbox game that is worth checking out!

Gameplay: 9 out of 10

Terraria is a sandbox game where players create their own world and adventures in a 2d world. From creating buildings, to questing in dungeons Terraria has a ton of things to do to keep plays busy for many hours. With PVP, team selection and various game modes and bosses to encounter the game has endless possibilities.

In the world of Terraria, everything is about crafting, from building materials to create houses for npcs, to weapons and armors to loot dungeouns and kill bosses. The game has plenty of craftable items, base materials and item variants to keep things unique.

~PC Edge: The PC version of Terraria offers standalone servers, and a much larger player scale, compared to non-standalone servers, and a 8 player limit per game. Not to mention user created mods for the PC version. Also mouse and keyboard controls are WAY more responsive.~
Audio: 9 out of 10

The audio for this title is out of this world. It is like listening to various old school sound tracks with a modern edge to it. The BGM’s go perfectly with the environments. The sound effects can be slightly repetetitive but are equally fitting.

~PS3 Edge :The PS3 version of Terraria has a crisper sound track and also offers a few more songs.

Graphics: 8 out of 10

You will not purchase Terraria to push the limit of Graphics on your desired machine. It is an old school 16 bit vibe which is great. They run smooth, many characters on screen at once, no slow down. It is like taking a walk down memory lane which is nice. I think some of the animations are funny, like when a bunny dies it explodes more or less.

~PS3 Edge: PS3 has the edge on graphics, it is very crisp looking and much better coloring scheme.

Replay Value: Infinite

Yes ladies and gentlemen I honestly believe this game has an infinite replay value, (At least the PC version) From countless things to craft, to pvp and building different worlds with friends, there will always be something new to do in the world of Terraria.

Final Verdict: 9 out of 10

If you are looking for something different, a bit oldschoolish and tons of fun, then Terraria is for you. Everyone @ TRG who has spent time with the title have fallen in love with the game. A must have for any Real Gamer

~Final Edge : PC, although the graphics and audio are a little outdated compared to the PSI3 version, with a large increase in online players (255) Larger worlds and user created mods, this expands on the gaming experience way more than some sound and visuals!
